LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that can be used to assess and improve library services. The survey, which takes 10-15 minutes to complete, includes 27 questions on users expectations for specific resources, services, and environment; demographic questions, questions about respondents' use of Steen Library, and a box for comments.

General Databases

Academic Search Complete (Ebsco) is a multidisciplinary index giving access to articles in over 8000 journals with many available in full text.

Expanded Academic ASAP (Gale Cengage Learning) is a general database with indexing for journal, magazine and newspaper articles, with many of the articles available full text.

Google Scholar provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.

Wilson Select Plus (FirstSearch) is a general database that contains full text articles from popular and scholarly journals and magazines.

 

Subject Databases

Agricola (Ebsco) contains over 3 million citations to materials acquired by the National Agricultural Library and cooperating institutions.

Agriculture Collection provides broad coverage of agriculture and related fields in content from magazines, journals, newsletters, and textbooks.

Biological and Agricultural Index (FirstSearch) cites articles from journals, both popular and professional, that pertain to biology and agriculture.

Gardening, Landscape and Horticulture Collection focuses on key issues in gardening, landscaping and other areas of horticulture from a collection of over 80 journals.

Google Scholar provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.

Medline (FirstSearch) is a database that covers all areas of medicine, including dentistry and nursing. There is no full text access, but most records include substantial abstracts.

National Library of Medicine has a Gateway allowing users to search in multiple systems including MEDLINE/PubMed, OLDMEDLINE, LOCATORplus, MEDLINEplus, DIRLINE, AIDS Meetings, Health Services Research Meetings, Space Life Sciences Meetings, and HSRProj.

Science & Technology Collection (Ebsco) provides indexing and abstracts for more than 1,700 publications of which over 800 leading full text journals cover relevant aspects of the scientific and technical community. Topics include astrophysics, biology, chemistry, computer technology, geology, physics, archaeology, and materials science.

Scirus: for scientific information only searches more than 150 million science-related Web sites, along with 11 journal databases with full text articles often included.

Vocations, Careers and Technical Education Collection offers content from 400 journals ranging from general career guides to specialized industry journals.

Dissertations & Theses (ProQuest) includes bibliographic citations for dissertations and theses worldwide from 1861 to the present with full text access available for the newer titles and abstracts available for the older titles.

New York Botanical Garden consists of 50 gardens on 250 acres in the Bronx. One of America's premier botanical gardens and a leading center for botanical research. Includes the International Plant Science Center. Research resources include the online searchable Index Herbariorum: A Global Directory of Public Herbaria and Associated Staff.

A wealth of government-produced information on all aspects of agriculture. Sites organized alphabetically or by subject.

Texas Department of Agriculture

United States Department of Agriculture
Includes the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service, USDA Agriculture Fact Book , commodity information, economics research, much more.

U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Includes information on bovine spongiform encephalopathy (mad cow disease), the Center for Veterinary Medicine, and the Center for Food Safety.

U.S. Geological Survey
