The survey, which takes 10-15 minutes to complete, includes 27 questions on users expectations for specific resources, services, and environment; demographic questions, questions about respondents' use of Steen Library, and a box for comments.

General Databases

Academic Search Complete (Ebsco) is a multidisciplinary index giving access to articles in over 8000 journals with many available in full text.

Expanded Academic ASAP (Gale Cengage Learning) is a general database with indexing for journal, magazine and newspaper articles, with many of the articles available full text.

Google Scholar provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.

Wilson Select Plus (FirstSearch) is a general database that contains full text articles from popular and scholarly journals and magazines.

Classical Music Library is a streaming recorded music database for listening and study.

EMusic in Print gives information on music that is in print.

Fine Arts and Music Collection more than 100 full-text journals and magazines providing resources in drama, music, art history, and filmmaking.

International Index to Music Periodicals covers music in journals from more than 20 countries with some full-text articles provided.

Musicians and Composers of the 20th Century The online equivalent to the 5 volume print set, contains biographical and critical essays on those who made an impact on music from 1901 to 2000 and includes photos, illustrations and graphs.

RILM Abstracts of Music Literature provides abstracts to over 500 scholarly journals, as well as books, dissertations, bibliographies, conference proceedings, etc. in the field of music.

Song Index
Provides access to citations for about 50,000 songs in more than 1,400 published song anthologies.

Encyclopedias

New Grove Music Online (now Oxford Music Online) comprises the full text of The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 2d ed; The New Grove Dictionary of Opera; and The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz, 2d ed.

Oxford Music Online The new gateway into music research and the access point for new and forthcoming Oxford music reference subscriptions and products.
