LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that can be used to assess and improve library services. The survey, which takes 10-15 minutes to complete, includes 27 questions on users expectations for specific resources, services, and environment; demographic questions, questions about respondents' use of Steen Library, and a box for comments.

Faculty Services


Test Grading (Opscan)

The Opscan grading service is available to faculty each semester beginning the first class day and until the day final grades are due. The service is available from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tests can be dropped off, along with a completed Opscan form, at the LINC service desk. Results can be either e-mailed to the faculty member’s SFASU e-mail address or copied to the faculty member’s USB drive. Printed results are available at a cost of 10 cents per page and require written approval from the department chair. For more information call 468-7066 or email testgrader@sfasu.edu.

LINC Classroom

The LINC classroom consists of 30 computers and includes an instructor’s station, a projector and chalk board. Instructors can reserve the LINC classroom by contacting the LINC desk x. 1498. The LINC classroom is available for student use when not reserved for instruction. Reservations for the LINC classroom can be made on a first-come, first-served basis for individual class sessions or on a semester-long basis by contacting the LINC desk. Faculty are urged to visit the classroom prior to use to become acquainted with the equipment and set up, and to ensure that any specialized software will work with our lab computers.

Infolab1 & Infolab2

Faculty may reserve Infolab1 and Infolab2, located on the first and second floors, respectively, by contacting the Access Services Desk (ext. 1497) or by e-mail to circdesk@sfasu.edu. Infolab1 has 32 computers and Infolab2 has 29 computers. Both labs come equipped with an instructor’s station, ceiling-mounted projector, and a SmartBoard. Infolabs are available for student use when not reserved for instruction. Faculty are urged to visit the Infolab prior to use to become acquainted with the equipment and set up, and to ensure that any specialized software will work with our lab computers.

Faculty-Supplied Software Installation

Faculty wishing to provide software applications for student use on library computers should follow the procedure listed below.

 

Any application or software component that is deemed to be incompatible with current system configurations or to compromise security will not be installed. Installed software that introduces a security breach will be removed from the network. In either case, faculty will be notified promptly, via e-mail, when an application is rejected or a component is removed.
