HISTORY

The Nacogdoches and Southeastern Railroad Company was incorporated on Oct. 28, 1903, for the purpose of constructing, owning, and operating a railroad, telegraph, and telephone line from Nacogdoches, Texas, southeast to the Attoyac River. It was controlled by the Frost Johnson Lumber Company. The company operated passenger trains at least through 1928 and surrendered its charter on Dec. 8, 1955, at which time its office was located in Shreveport, Louisiana. These papers contain legal documents, correspondence, minutes of Board of Directors and Stockholders meetings, schedules, payroll records and other documents.
