LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that can be used to assess and improve library services. The survey, which takes 10-15 minutes to complete, includes 27 questions on users expectations for specific resources, services, and environment; demographic questions, questions about respondents' use of Steen Library, and a box for comments.

Interesting Headstones in Oak Grove Cemetery

There are several interesting and unusual headstones which turn the eye and are included because of the beauty of their workmanship. Any visit to Oak Grove should also include a visit to these sites.

George John Montes

George John Montes (b. May 24, 1884 - d. Mar. 14, 1946) cross stands in the "Old Catholic" section of the Cemetery.

Albert Aldrich Nelson II M.D.

Albert Aldrich Nelson II M.D. (Jan. 3, 1875 - Dec. 28, 1934), whose father Albert Aldrich Nelson was the Republic of Texas surveyor for the district of Nacogdoches. His exploits as a doctor in the area can be found in the R. B. Blake papers.

J. J. Hayter

J. J. Hayter (June 4, 1852 - May 24, 1911), a local merchant, whose business receipts are included in our collection, but not currently cataloged.

Bennett Blake

Bennett Blake (Nov. 11, 1809 - Mar. 1, 1896) served as Chief Justice of Nacogdoches for several years during the Republic. His two wives and his brother are buried across the road from him, also in brick vaults.
