FAQThe East Texas Research Center contains rare, out-of-print, and new books, mostly Texana, with an emphasis on the East Texas region. Books by East Texas authors are acquired as well as a limited selection of important publications by other Texas writers.
There are a number of named collections established in honor of individuals who have made significant donations or had donations made in their names.
Local chapters of several organizations including the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, and the Nacogdoches Genealogical Society have helped build our holdings in local history and genealogy.
Some books with no Texas connection are housed in the Center for security or preservation reasons.
