LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that can be used to assess and improve library services. The survey, which takes 10-15 minutes to complete, includes 27 questions on users expectations for specific resources, services, and environment; demographic questions, questions about respondents' use of Steen Library, and a box for comments.

Check out and return library materials or request assistance in locating materials. A valid university ID, an SFASU or Nacogdoches Public Library Card, or driver’s license is required for all checkouts. Please return items to the Circulation Desk at Steen Library, to the book drop located on the north side of Steen Library, or to Nacogdoches Public Library.

Access Services staff will trace items you are unable to locate. A hold may be placed on any item checked out with a 21 day or more loan period. After an item has been checked out for 21 days, it may be recalled. Holds and recalls may be placed in person or via the Library’s Online catalog by accessing My Library Account.
The TexShare Library card program provides free reciprocal borrowing privileges to faculty, students, and staff of Texas colleges and universities at participating libraries. This statewide program is administered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. Academic, public and private libraries throughout the state are participants in the TexShare Library Card Program.
Student TexShare Cards are valid for one semester, expiring on the first day of the following semester. Faculty and staff cards will expire at the end of the academic year, in August. To apply or re-apply for a TexShare Card please call Access Service (1497) or fill out the TexShare on-line form.

Self-service copy machines are located in the Audiovisual room on the first floor and in ETRC on the second floor. Cost per copy is 10 cents. Microfilm and fiche readers are located on all floors. Microfilm and fiche printers are located in the audiovisual room. Cost per copy is 25 cents. Digital images may be made from microfilm or microfiche on a machine in the Audiovisual Area. These images may be copied to a flash drive or printed using computers in the labs.

In the AV room we have several carrels providing access to VCR, DVD, CD players, record players, laser disc player, cassette players. Two sound proof rooms are equipped with VCR, CD, Cassette, record players, speakers and keyboards. Also available are overhead and opaque projectors and camera copy tables for making slides. These are available to anyone during the hours the library is open. Headphones can be checked out for 2 hour periods.

A reciprocal borrowing agreement between Steen Library and the Nacogdoches Public Library facilitates the borrowing of library materials between both libraries. A courier service is available Monday – Friday, except during university or public library holidays. Books can be retrieved or returned from / to either library. A delinquency at either library will result in the suspension of borrowing privileges at both libraries. Contact the Circulation Desk for more information.
