Supplemental Instruction (SI) means study groups for historically difficult courses led by students who have already made an A in that class. SI at SFA is part of the Academic Assistance and Resource Center (AARC) on the first floor of Steen Library. The SI Program Director at SFA is M.E. McWilliams.
We offer tutor training certification through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) where an SI Leader may advance through three levels based on his performance each semester. Each year an SI Leader participating in the CRLA certification program wins the SI Bravo Award for Outstanding work.

An SI Leader’s job is to support the high academic standards of the professor. At no time do we forget that the SI Group belongs to the professor. We constantly remind clients that the professor is the number one defense against failure.
You can read more about SI at the SI International Homepage.
