Content Studies tutors help fellow students develop effective strategies for coping with ongoing course assignments. They work on identifying and clarifying key concepts, organizing and remembering information, note-taking, problem-solving, integrating text and lecture notes, and preparing or reviewing for exams. The tutor-client relationship is seen as a partnership, with the ultimate goal of enabling clients to become self-sufficient and successful in current and future studies.

Content Studies

In order for Content Studies tutors to offer optimal assistance, students should bring their course texts, notes, syllabus, assignment sheets, and all other pertinent course materials to each tutoring session, and should come prepared to actively participate in improving their own study tactics.

SFA students who are interested in tutoring the above subjects, or who have questions or comments regarding Content Studies tutoring may contact Melissa Boiles, the Content Studies Program Director, by email or telephone at (936) 468-1412.
