Building Use

General Information

• Children under age twelve should be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
• The fourth floor seating areas and study rooms have been designated quiet zones. Please respect fellow patrons of the library who wish to use these areas for quiet study and concentration.
• Animals, other than those necessary to accommodate students with disabilities, may not be brought into the library.
• Bicycles, roller or in-line skates, skateboards, etc. are prohibited from being used or stored in the library, including the library's entryway. Bicycle racks are located outside of the library.
• Announcements of general interest (not personal notices) may be submitted to Library Administration for approval to post on the bulletin board in the library.
• The library's public address system is available for paging only in emergencies. Please contact UPD to request a page.

Group Study & Meeting Rooms

When not needed for library or AARC purposes, meeting rooms are available for reservation by university-affiliated groups, as defined in the university's Policy on the Use of University Facilities-B1.

• Study Rooms
  There are eight study rooms on the third floor and ten study rooms on the fourth floor. The rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional group study space is available directly in front of the elevators on the third and fourth floors.
  
• Soundproof Rooms
  Two soundproof rooms, equipped with listening equipment and electronic keyboards, are located in the Music/Audiovisual area.
  
• InfoLab1
  This microcomputer-equipped classroom, located on the first floor in the Music/Audiovisual area, is equipped with 32 computers, an Instructor's station and a SMART board. Contact the Circulation Desk (ext. 1497) to reserve.
  
• InfoLab2
  This microcomputer-equipped classroom, located in the northeast corner of the second floor, is equipped with 29 computers, an Instructor's station and a SMART board. Contact the Circulation Desk (ext.1497) to reserve.
  
• Wyatt Room
  The Wyatt Room, located on the first floor, can be used for a variety of purposes: exhibits, receptions, large group meetings, lectures, etc. Capacity seating ranges from 60 to 100 people. Contact the Circulation Desk (ext. 1497) to reserve.
  
• AARC Seminar Rooms
  The AARC has four seminar rooms that seat eight and two classrooms that seat twenty. These rooms may be reserved between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. , Monday-Thursday and on Friday. Contact the AARC Desk at ext. 4108 to inquire about reservations.
  
• LINC Classroom
  This microcomputer-equipped classroom, located within the Library Information Network Center (LINC), may be reserved for classroom instruction. Contact the LINC Desk at ext. 1498 to inquire about reservations.

Circulation

To check out or renew books, you must be a registered borrower and present either:

• A valid SFASU student ID card
• An SFASU or Nacogdoches Public Library Card
• A driver's license

Loan information:

• The regular loan period is 21 days, and the faculty loan period is 160 days.
• Doctoral students and those writing theses may check out books for extended periods upon request and verification of Thesis or Doctoral Status. Status must be renewed each semester.
• Individuals are limited to ninety-nine items on their borrowing record at any one time.
• As long as items are not overdue, renewals may be made by accessing My Library Account through the Online Catalog, by phone, or in person at the Circulation desk.

Fines for overdue materials:

• 21-Day loan...............................$0.10 per day
• 1,3, or 7-Day loan......................$0.50 per day
• 2 & 4-Hour loan.........................$0.01 per minute
